Fjodor the naughty cod
Fjodor is a fish who lives in the sea. He becomes friends with little boy Palle when Palle’s dad takes the cod home in order to repair him. Because that’s what Palle’s dad does: he repairs fish with hammer and nail and tape and pins. And this fish is a very special patient...
Through a series of four books Norwegian writer Pål H. Christiansen describes how the fish and the boy meet and start being friends, how Fjodor secretly follows Palle and his parents on holiday (which doesn’t amuse Palle’s mom at all), how they solve the problem followed by the big bang and how Fjodor discovers that going to school is no good for him.
Christiansen’s writing style makes the books not only interesting for children who begin to read but also for others who like poetic and fantastic stories. The adventures of Fjodor and Palle tell about friendship and how difficult but important it is to set limits in education.
The Fjodor series has been finished with the 4th book in March 2009. So far the Fjodor books are only available in Norwegian language. But Pål H. Christiansen is looking for foreign publishers interested in publishing the series in their language too.
