The real Paul Waaktaar Savoy enjoyed the read of this "funny and charming" book and even showed his solidarity with Hobo saying "I am like that" when it comes to be obsessed about someone. German magazine 'Der Spiegel' wrote: "Pål H. Christiansen has created a wonderful grumpy hero, a tedious but friendly chap. Christiansen considers with empathy how difficult it is to find your place in the big wide world whilst the one inside takes all your attention."

The novel was originally published in Norwegian language in 2002 and entitled "Drømmer om storhet". Now the author releases the English version of his a-ha cult book with his own publishing company in order to give all the curious fans the possibility to read his novel.

When released in Norway in 2002, "Drømmer om storhet" received much attention. The German translation "Die Ordnung der Worte", published in 2007, got rave reviews again. British translator and writer Jon Buscall made the English translation "The Scoundrel Days of Hobo Highbrow" for Fabula.
