a-ha novel sold to Germany
Pål H. Christiansen's novel "Drømmer om storhet" is sold to the German publisher Rockbuch Verlag. The book received great attention when released in Norway in 2002, much because of one of the novel's subordinate characters being Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, and that the main character, Hobo Highbrow, is an admirer of the pop group a-ha. Back then a-ha fans from 25 countries expressed their interest in reading the book in their own language, and Germany is now first out.
Rockbuch Verlag publishes mainly biographies about bands and artists in the music world, but has recently also published several novels where the relationship to music is of central importance, as John Mendelssohn's "Warten auf Kate" and Marc Spitz' "Wann nur, wenn nicht jetzt". The release of Pål H. Christiansen's novel is a continuation of this focus.
"Drømmer om storhet" is planned released spring 2007 on the German market. The translation is being done by Christine von Bülow, whilst Gabriele Haefs is engaged as consultant. (08.12.06)
